Are you using all 4 dimensions in your investing?

Ideally, before investing any money in anything you need to consider the 4 dimensions of investing.  Doing so will help you see what's involved, or should be involved, when you invest.

The 4 Dimensions of Investing are generally applicable and not limited to investing in stocks. You need to consider these when looking at you entire portfolio including real estate, stocks, bonds, savings, commodities, precious metals, art, automobiles, crypto-currency, insurance, and so on.

System

One investment principal I have is that you must have an investment system. Your investments needs to have an underlying system, a formula for success. What you hear in social media, from relatives and friends, from broadcast media, etc. isn't a system. Your intuition, hunches and feelings toward an investment aren't a system. All of the news, media, and your internal voice don't comprise a pure and consistent formula.

Personal Judgement

Now, even though above I said you need a system, and you do, this doesn't exclude your personal judgement. You need to be comfortable with your investments and your personal financial situation is unique to you. So, of course your personal judgement is important and a part of investment decision making. In many cases it is possible that your personal judgement is at odds with the system or the pure financial math of an investment.
